Names of aromatics

I sincerely hope that you enjoyed the lesson on aromatic chemicals

As promised here is some help on names.

Halogen atoms

Fluoro, Chloro, Bromo, Iodo

Alkyl groups

Methyl (CH3), ethyl (CH2CH3), propyl, butyl, pentyl, hexyl, heptyl etc etc

Ether groups

Alkyloxy such as OCH3 (methoxy)

Aryloxy such as OPh (Phenoxy)

Another benzene ring (phenyl)

Nitro (NO2)

Azido (N3)

Cyano (CN, also known as cyanide [the latter as a suffix])
